Boom thought to be wreck

The best guess concerning the cause of a boom around Walterboro late yesterday afternoon is a wreck. The Walterboro Police responded to a wreck involving a car hitting a power pole about the time the boom was reported. The noise may have been caused by the transformer blowing up.
