Home hit by shotgun blast
A member of the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a residence on Bama Road in Cottageville Sept. 8 at 3:45 p.m. to investigate a shotgun blast.
The resident reported that he heard a single shotgun blast and heard pellets hitting the west side of the house.
Upon investigation, he found that the pellets from the shotgun had made their way into a bedroom, coming through the bedroom window and siding.
The man said he went outside the home after the gunshot and saw a light-colored Kia Soul leaving the area.
Gunfire damages home and auto
A report of gunfire sent Walterboro police to the Crosby Street and Francis Street area the evening of Sept. 8.
Individuals in the 100 block area told police that they heard the gunshots but did not see who was shooting or where they were.
As officers continued to check the area, a Crosby Street resident told police that her home and car had been targeted by the shooters.
She said that the shots came from the wooded area over by Hayne Street. When officers checked, they found spent shell casings on the path through the wooded area and in a neighbor’s yard.
