Officers from the Walterboro Police Department raised $1,744 for the S.C. Special Olympics during their “Cops on Top” held at Burger King last week. About 14 officers participated from all departments. The fundraiser’s format was chosen from a list of suggestions from Special Olympics. All the money raised stays with S.C. athletes. “We just wanted to do something for Special Olympics because we always see the torch run every year,” said Cpl. Amye Stivender. “We chose Burger King because they are always really good to us for our community service projects.”
