Edgewood Baptist Church will be hosting a “We’re Here For You” event on Nov. 23 from 10 a.m. until noon. Different groups from the community (Salk Student Government, Salk basketball team, Girl Scouts, Sheriff Andy Strickland (and possibly the police chief and others) will bring soup and cornbread to be served to the less fortunate in our community. Edgewood’s food pantry will also be open that day as well.

Edgewood Baptist Church also just completed a fund raiser for its food pantry with a goal of $1,000. If they met that goal, the pastor and the youth leader (also the food pantry coordinator) agreed to dye their hair orange for the “We’re Here For You” event. “I am very pleased to say that we met our goal, we actually raised $4,073.58, so their hair will be orange,” said Samantha Lyons.
