WALTERBORO – Mrs. Debbie Gaye Mock, age 59, entered into rest while surrounded by her loving family Saturday afternoon, July 2, 2016, in her home in Walterboro while under the care of Agape Hospice.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:30am Wednesday morning, July 6, 2016, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. The Reverend Gerald Mabry officiating. Interment will follow in Black Creek Baptist Churchyard, 4931 Black Creek Road, Walterboro.
Born December 17, 1956 in Walterboro, she was a daughter Gay Caddell Hiers and Calbern Bates Myers. Debbie loved her family dearly and always centered her life around helping those she loved. For many years, she was a well-known figure at The Southern Lady in Walterboro, always present to assist her sister-in-law in whatever capacity her volunteering could help. She was talented with embroidery and in her earlier years, enjoyed writing. She was a good and was a member of the former Four Square Gospel Church in Walterboro.
Surviving are: her husband of thirty-nine years, Mr. David Eugene Mock; a daughter, Tiffany Mock Thigpen and her husband Ricky of Walterboro; her mother, Gay of Walterboro; her father Calbern and his wife Elvenia of Smoaks; and a step-brother, Rodney Hiers of Clyo, Georgia. There are three beloved grandchildren, Michael Thigpen, Benjamin Thigpen, and Landon Thigpen that survive along with a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
