Colleton County High School Track and Field team participated in the Class AAAA State Qualifier this past weekend at Spring Valley High School in Columbia. Both the boys’ and girls’ teams competed well in the event, but only three boys were able to finish in the top eight spots in order to advance to the SCHSL State Championships.
Karl Levine, a senior, placed third in the high jump competition with a 6.04.00 jump. Senior Joshua Breddell placed second in the 110-meter hurdles. George Crosby, a junior, placed third in the shot put following a 49.06.50 throw.
“It was a long day in Columbia, but we are proud to have produced three state finalists,” said Coach Hamilton. “Although not everyone qualified, it was a very good day for boys’ track. This upcoming state championship event will be very exciting.”
Levine, Breddell and Crosby will travel back to Spring Valley High School this weekend May 13-14 to participate in the SCHSL State Championships.
