Colleton County School District took their never ending search for bus drivers to the streets last weekend.
The school district set up shop outside one of the entrances to the Wal-Mart on Bells Highway, hoping to meet someone interested in applying for one of the estimated 30 bus driver openings the school district has. One of the school distinct employees manning the tent set up next to a parked school bus said the afternoon bid to lure applicants had been slow.
The yellow bus was parked in the parking lot from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday to lure potential applicants to the tent where free snacks were provided as a further inducement.
Bus drivers were on hand to talk about the job, and information on the steps in becoming a bus driver were distributed.
