Head-on wreck injures three | News | The Press and Standard

Two vehicles collided head-on in the 3800 block of Charleston Highway (S.C. Hwy. 64) Saturday evening April 16.
Callers notified 9-1-1 at 8:11 p.m., advising one person was trapped in the wreckage. Fire-Rescue arrived to find both passenger cars on the east-bound shoulder with front-end heavy damage.
The male driver of the Malibu suffered life-threatening injuries and was quickly stabilized at the scene. He was transported to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical in Summerville by ambulance with additional firefighter-paramedics on board to assist with his care.
Both occupants of a Chevrolet Cavalier suffered multiple traumatic injuries. The female passenger was trapped in the wreckage and was extricated using rescue tools. She and the male driver were both transported to Trident Medical by ambulance.
Traffic on Charleston Highway was down to one lane for over an hour.
The S.C. Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. Colleton County Sheriff’s Deputies assisted with traffic control.
