This season’s Colleton Farmers Market is set to start on Saturday May 7.
Local farmers will be selling their produce, local crafters selling their wares and more.
Music for the grand opening will be provided by “Going to the Dogs,” a local band that will donate the proceeds to the Friends of the Colleton County Animal Shelter.
“A Taste of the Market,” a program started last year, offers food samplings from produce and other items sold at the market.
A church group will also be on hand, selling to-go meals to customers.
The day will also include children’s activities.
Colleton Farmers Market Manager Ted Chewning said plans for the new market season include musical entertainment and groups offering to-go dinners at least one Saturday each month.
The Museum and Marketplace will also be open for browsing and purchasing.
