Errors, clock cost JVs against Swamp Foxes | Sports | The Press and Standard

The JV Cougar Baseball team fell victim to the clock in game one against Ashley Ridge on Wednesday April 13, losing 5-4 when time expired at 6 p.m. The Cougars and the Swamp Foxes hit four apiece in the game. Chase Hadwin started on the mound for Colleton County and lasted two innings. Charged with the loss, Hadwin allowed five runs on four hits and surrendered one walk. Lane Lee, in relief, allowed no hits or runs.
Providing hits for the Cougars were Tristen Hiott, Etan Bryan, Connor Morris, Jackson Morelli, and Lane Lee (double).
At home for game two of the series, the JV team came out flat, allowing six errors in the 6-1 loss. Ashley Ridge scored a run in the second and tacked on six in the fifth. Ethan Bryan pitched four innings, allowing three runs on four hits. Hadwin entered in relief during the fifth inning, allowing one hit. The Swamp Foxes scored four runs on Cougar errors.
Leading the offensive effort were Morris, Morellis and Cameron Simmons with a hit each.
The JV Cougars will play Battery Creek and Fort Dorchester in their final games of the season this week.
