Cougars bring home medals in track | Sports | The Press and Standard

The Colleton County Boys Track and Field team participated in the Gamecock Invitational on April 9 at Sumter High School, where they finished third of 12 participating teams. The girls participated in the Scott’s Branch Eagles Invitational in Summerton, where they finished fourth of 10 participating teams.
In Gamecock Invitational results: The Cougars boys relay team finished first in the 4×100 (43.61), fifth in the 4×400 (3:45.22) and fifth in the 4×800 (9:41.67).
In the 100-meter dash, Tyreke Simmons finished in second place (11.17). In 110-meter hurdles, Joshua Breddell finished in the No. 2 spot (15:98) and Jaden Koger finished third (16:41).  In the 1,600-meter, Caleb O’Quinn finished ninth (5:38.10). In the 200-meter, Tyreke Simmons finished second (23.11) and Tykeem Johnson finished No. 11 (24:01).
In the 3,200-meter run, Shelton Reynolds finished second with a time of 11:10.88. In the 400-meter dash, Karl Levine finished seventh at 55:83. In the 800-meter, Ernest Bryant finished ninth at 2:24.20 and Caleb O’Quinn finished at No. 15 with a time of 2:38.55.
Skye Brown earned a second-place finish in discus (129.07) and George Crosby finished fifth (121.07). In pole vault, Isaac Sauls finished first (11.06), Hunter Ohmer was fourth (11.00) and Hunter Polk was No. 10 (8.00). Karl Levine earned a second-place finish in high jump (6.02), and in long jump Tykeem Johnson finished at No. 13 (17.07). George Crosby finished at No. 1 in shot put (48.05).
The girls’ results at Scott’s Branch Eagles Invitational were as follows:
The Lady Cougar relay team finished first in the 4×400 (4:37.67) and second in the 4×800 (12:45.86)
In 100-meter hurdles, Asia Martin took first (19:71), Deidra Haynes finished in second (20:11) and Latavia Stanfield finished fifth (20:81). In the 100-meter dash, Dahlia Inabinett finished seventh (13:98) and Andrea Jenkins was No. 11 (14:82).
In the 1,600-meter run, Abigail Altman finished in first place (5:54.37), Grayson Altman finished third (6:00.64) and Savannah Reid finished fourth (6:50.45). In the 200-meter, Dahlia Inabinett finished No. 5 (29:94), Charese Taylor finished seventh (31:48) and Tiasia Powell was No. 11 (33:14).
In the 3,200-meter run, Alaina Mitchell finished in second place (18:29.84). In the 400-meter, Kari Edwards was fifth (1:08.80) and Shaniya Fields was tenth (1:12.13). In the 800-meter run, Abigail Altman was No. 2 (2:41.23), followed by Grayson Altman in third (2:46.08) and Kensley Dantzler in fourth (2:59.08).
Megan Calloway captured a first-place finish in discus (98.00), Morgan Calloway finished second (90.05) Ayanna Kelley was No. 11 (53.06.50). In high jump, Shantasia Allen earned a first place finish (4.08.00), Soleil Fryar-Sims was fourth (4.04) and Raven North finished fifth (4.02). In long jump, Kennedy Crosby finished fifth (13.09), Soleil Fryar-Sims was seventh (13.06) Tiffany North was ninth (12.00).
Victoria Wyman finished first in pole vault for the Lady Cougars (7.00) and Breana Varnadoe was second (6.06). Victoria Meyers finished first in shot put (30.05), Megan Calloway finished fifth (25.11), Morgan Calloway was No. 10 (23.07) and La’daisha Simmons was No. 11 (23.02.50). In triple jump, Tiffany North finished sixth (25.07) and Jourdan Kinsey finished eighth (24.04).
