Colleton Prep will offer a 2-3-year-old Preschool Program for the 2016-17 school year.
The preschool will run Monday through Friday, August–May from 7 a.m.-4:30 p.m. daily. When the school day is over, aftercare will be available until 5:30 p.m. at a small additional cost.
“We are excited about expanding our preschool. It is a great service to our teachers, who will be able to bring their little ones with them, as well as promoting a feeder class to K4 and K5. And it lets parents with little ones have a ‘one stop’ place to go while big brother and sister are at school,” said Jill Burttram, CPA Head of School.
Stephanie Singleton and Rebecca Ritter Ketchum have agreed to teach the classes. They have both been teaching at Academy Road Country Care for the past 16 years. “They have so much experience in teaching young children. We are delighted that they are joining us,” she said.
The curriculum will follow the Open Court program used in the K4-5th grade reading classes — a phonetically-driven program that has the students reading and writing at an early age. The preschool will follow CPA’s school calendar; however, the preschool will open Aug. 1 to allow the students time to adjust before the older students return on Aug. 17. The cost is $400 per month August through May.
“We are filling up quickly,” Burttram said. “We have been overwhelmed by the response in just a few days. We had no idea that there would be such a demand for a full-day preschool for this age group. We have already had parents put down deposits on the 2017-2018 school year!”
Applications are available in the front office 7:45 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday-Friday. Call 843-538-8959 or stop by the school on Academy Road if interested. Information is also available at colletonprep.org under the Admissions tab.
