It’s springtime! And, as the end of the school year approaches, it can only mean one thing — Stephanie Drawdy and the Colleton County High School Choral Department are buzzing like bees preparing for their annual spring musical.
This year’s production, “Bye Bye Birdie,” is a musical satire about a rock and roll singer who has been drafted to serve in the Army.  The singer, Conrad Birdie, an Elvis Presley type, comes to a small town to give a symbolic goodbye to America’s teenagers.
Leads for this year’s musical include: Ciara Wallace, Carlyle Griffin, Macie McCaskill, Chris Hunt, Riley Downey, Maddy Hayes, Samantha Calcutt, Dalton Moore and Charles Bailey. Also with major roles are the up-and-coming Maya DeSantis and Susannah Seigler, both freshman at CCHS.
“Bye Bye Birdie” will be performed on Thursday and Friday May 12-13 and on Monday May 17 at 7 p.m.  The musical will be held at the Performing Arts Center at Colleton County High School. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. Advance tickets may be purchased at Old Bank located on Washington Street, Colleton County High School fee window or from any chorus student.

I purchased two advance tickets at Old Bank on Monday, May 9, and I was charged $20 ($10 each). I would like to request a refund of $4, but I don’t know how.
