WALTERBORO:     Mr. Clarence Moye Padgett Jr., husband of Jacqueline “Jackie” Ann Segars Padgett, passed away Monday evening, March 11, 2024 at his home in Forest Hills under hospice care, with his family beside him.  He was 91. Moye was born in Charleston August 15, 1932 a son of the late Clarence M. Padgett Sr. and Mary Catherine Everett Padgett.  He retired from South Carolina Electric and Gas as the plant manager for both the Hagood power station in Charleston, and the Canady’s power station in Colleton County.  He was a veteran of the United States Army, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Walterboro.   In addition to his wife of seventy-one years, Moye is survived by his four daughters:  Debra Yudin (Robert), Janet Middlebrooks (Gary), Sharon Rodriguez (Alfred), and Kathy Rose (Tim).  There are six grandchildren:  Mary Fomby (Jonathan), Padgett Crim (Jessica), Emily Peterson (Kevin), Meg Rose (Jay Warne), Isabella Rodriguez (Eli), and Luis Rodriguez (Lindsay Hislop).  He leaves behind eight great-grandchildren:  Mikayla and Michael Strack, Tabitha, Liam, and Benjamin Crim, Emma Grace and William Peterson, and Harper Conkling.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary C. “Sissy” Padgett.   A memorial service will be held Saturday morning, March 16, 2024 at 11:00 in the chapel of Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street in Walterboro.  The family will receive friends at the conclusion of the service.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Colleton County Citadel Club, P.O.B. 1866, Walterboro, SC  29488.
