A semi-truck caught fire on Interstate 95 at the 63 mile-marker near Walterboro on Thursday, July 15th. The trailer was carrying pallets of saltine crackers at the time of the fire. Firefighter-paramedics with Colleton County Fire-Rescue (CCFR) fought the flames for about 20 minutes before having the fire under control, according to CCFR Chief Barry McRoy. Northbound traffic on I-95 was blocked for about 30 minutes until one lane could be reopened.
