ROUND O:     Mrs. Mae Seigler Harrison, wife of the late Heyward Breland “Buddy” Harrison Jr., passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, March 12, 2024 at Magnolias of Walterboro, surrounded by her loving family.  She was 84. Mae was born in Walterboro February 4, 1940 a daughter of the late Grover C. Seigler and Mae Nettles Seigler.  After the death of her mother at an early age, Mae was welcomed into the care of her aunt and uncle…Dowling and Ethel Seigler Driggers…where she was raised as their own daughter in a loving and caring home. Mae was known throughout the community for her outgoing personality and her willingness to help those in need.  She never failed to express her opinion on matters…and everyone appreciated the fact that they always knew “where they stood” with Mae.  She could often be seen working diligently in her yard gardening and raising plants and flowers.  She loved reading and working word puzzles, thrifting, and was never seen without her beverage of choice…un-sweet tea.  Mae was a lifelong member of Bedon Baptist Church where she was the church recording secretary, and served on several committees such as the bereavement committee, and was active with the Women’s Missionary Union (WMU), and vacation bible school.  Mae loved her entire family deeply and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt.  She will truly be missed.   Mae is survived by her children Carey “Buster” Harrison (Robin) of Round O, Blaine Scott Harrison (Becky), of Walterboro, and Marie Driggers-Ackerman of Round O. She leaves behind her daughter-in-law Barbara Harrison.  There are ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.  In addition to her beloved husband, Mae was preceded death by her son Heyward Breland “Butch” Harrison III, by her grandson Jason Driggers, by her sons-in-law Phillip Driggers Sr. and Paul Ackerman, and by her mother-in-law Lucille Harrison Carter.  She was also pre-deceased by her siblings:  Carol, Adolph, and J.C. Seigler, and Myrtle Seigler Spell.  The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Magnolias of Walterboro, Edisto Home Care and Hospice, and to nurse Alicia Lyles for the excellent care given to Mae during her declining health and passing.  The love they gave to her will never be forgotten. Funeral services will be held Friday morning, March 15, 2024 at 11:00 at Bedon Baptist Church, with burial following in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends during a time of visitation Thursday evening, March 14, 2024 from 5:00 until 7:00 at Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street in Walterboro.  In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Bedon Baptist Sanctuary Repair Fund.
