Mrs. Nancy Padgett Gooding, 73, of Lodge, entered into eternal rest Thursday morning, May 2, 2024, at Trident Medical Center. Born February 24, 1951, in Colleton County, she was a daughter of the late Christopher “Sonny” Padgett and Zelma McMillan Padgett. Mrs. Nancy was the retired Administrative Assistant for American Forest Management, where she had worked for almost 25 years. She was a dedicated and faithful member of Carters Ford Baptist Church. At her beloved church, she served as a Sunday School Teacher, Church Clerk, served on the Social Committee, and also served in an assistant treasurer capacity. She loved lighthouses and especially loved watching her hummingbirds. Most of all she centered her life around her family and loved being a grandmother. Surviving are: her husband, William H. “Buddy” Gooding of Lodge; children, Trudy Godley and her husband David of Islandton, and Christopher Gooding and his wife Tania of Lodge; sister, Phyllis P. Gibson of Islandton; grandchildren, J.W. Godley, Andrew Godley, Hunter Gooding, Kassidy Gooding, and Brad Godley (Emma); and a great granddaughter, Ansley Godley. She was preceded in death by her sister, Janice P. Sauls. The family requests donations be made in her memory to: Carters Ford Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, Post Office Box 1, Lodge, South Carolina 29082.   Funeral services were held 2 o’clock, Sunday afternoon, May 5, 2024, at Carters Ford Baptist Church, Lodge Highway, Lodge.
