The Colleton County School Board Meeting for March 19, 2024 was called to order by Chairperson Sharon Witkin. Board members Simmons and Jones were present via phone and Board member Murdaugh was absent from the proceedings.
Chairman Witkin called for the recitation of the Pledge then the invocation. Special prayer was requested for teacher Debi Price from Forest Hills Elementary. The greeters for this meeting were comprised of the CCMS and the CCHS Robotics Team who shared the Colleton County School District mission statement. The Civility Pledge was then recited by board members.
A motion was called for to approve the agenda for the current meeting. The motion was made, seconded, and carried. A motion was then called for approval of the minutes for Board meetings for February 20, February 27, March 7, and March 12. A motion was made, seconded, and carried
Superintendent Jessica Williams then recognized students of the month with Dr. Sharon Baddick presenting awardees with their certificates. Student recognitions of the month are:

Superintendent Williams then recognized the robotics students for their achievements in class and competition. CCHS Robotics advanced to FTC State competition on January 27 2024 and competed on March 1st, and 2nd in Columbia SC at the FTC State Competition. CCHS Robotics placed 12th in the state.
On January 27, 2024 CCHS team 22199 took 5th place on the field, won the Judges award, and Hunter Shander, a 10th grader at CCHS, advanced as a semifinalist for the FTC Dean's list. Our rookie team 24914 placed 8th on the field.

After recognitions the robotics students gave a demonstration of their two robots Helios and Iris.
