Ms. Gloria Anne Peeples Brown, 79, of Islandton, entered into eternal rest, Wednesday morning, March 27, 2024 at her daughter’s residence in Cayce. Born October 22, 1944, in Hampton, she was a daughter of the late Miles E. Peeples, Sr. and Evadna Fennell Peeples. She was a retired Dietician for Pruitt Healthcare in Estill. She was a member of West End Baptist Church. Gloria enjoyed crocheting, fishing and taking trips to the beach and mountains. She loved animals and had an unbelievable ability to talk to them. She also loved her sweets, especially ice cream and banana popsicles. Most of all, she loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving are: her husband of 62 years, Billy Lloyd Brown of Islandton; children, Susan Renée Brown Rahn and her life partner Daniel C. “CJ” Tubbs, Jr. of Cayce, and Marty Lloyd Brown and his wife Leanne of Swansea; grandchildren, Heather Renée Bowen and her husband Roger of Walterboro and Amber Khristine Brown of St. Matthews; great grandchildren, Luke Dakota Bowen, Odin Matthew Bowen, Levi Caiden Bowen, Tidus Grayson Bowen and Declan Zayne Bowen, all of Walterboro, Taylor Khristine Pearson of St. Matthews, and Morgan D. Pearson of Orangeburg; her grand “furbaby”, Jackie; brothers, Miles E. Peeples, Jr. and his wife Agnes of Varnville and Cecil A. Peeples and his wife Caroline of West Columbia; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, including a special nephew, Roy Marr. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Betty P. Tuten and Barbara P. Crosby; nephews, Mark Tuten and Mike Peeples; and a niece, Kathy Crosby. A memorial service will be held 5 o’clock, Saturday afternoon, April 6, 2024, at The Brice Herndon Funeral Chapel, Varnville.
