Bobby James Beach, 73, of Walterboro, entered into eternal rest in the comfort of his own home Tuesday, April 30, 2024. Bobby was born November 7, 1949, in Colleton County to the late Bud Beach and Emmadell Evans. Known as “Peepaw”, and his CB Handle “Doe Slayer”, Bobby was a United States Army Vietnam Veteran who loved the Gamecocks and loved to work; he was a painter by trade and never missed a day until he became ill. He was adamant about instilling a solid work ethic similar to his own in his children. He loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and enjoyed making them smile whenever he could spend time with them. Some of his many hobbies that he loved were hunting, fishing, and running dogs. Getting together with family and friends to do “Man Drives” was one of his favorite ways to spend a Saturday- even if it meant showing up to birthday parties or family get-togethers late. Bobby was a member of the Buckhead Hunting Club; he loved being part of the club and loved all the members. Peepaw loved to make jokes and give someone a hard time any chance he got, but most importantly he was a protector to those he loved. His family lovingly remembers him as the man who “loved you if he loved you, and if he didn’t… you knew.” Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Ruthann Beach of Walterboro; his sons, Bobby Sylvester Beach and his fiancé Tonya Hill of Sumter, Johnny Beach and his spouse Bethany Weaver of Illinois; a daughter, Amber Lynn Beach and her wife Tammy of Walterboro; a brother, Clayton Smoak; his sisters, Kim McDonough, Helen Priester, Sandra Walker; a sister-in-law, Debbie Sineath; his brothers-in-law, Allen Priester and his wife Patricia, and James Banks; his mother-in-law, Virginia Priester; his grandchildren, Stephanie Beach and her husband Michael Price, Cody Lee Beach and his fiancé Morgan, Jim Lane, Morgan Lane, Ethan Lane, Wyatt Beach, Dylan Beach, and Kylie Beach; his great-grandchildren, Jayce Beach, Rayleigh Beach, Emerson Price, Lillian Price, Remington Beach, and another on the way, Rinley Beach; a very special friend who Peepaw considered his own son, Buck Nettles and his wife Heather of Walterboro; a former daughter-in-law, Becky “Beckyboop” Lemoine; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and other extended family. In addition to his parents, Bobby is preceded in death by a brother, David Beach; a great-grandchild, Ryder Beach; a nephew, Rick Roscoe; and a sister-in-law, Rita Banks. The family asks that memorial contributions be made in Bobby’s name to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee, 38105 or by visiting www.stjude.org/donate. A memorial service for Bobby with military honors was held 2 o’clock, Saturday, May 4, 2024, at The Brice Herndon Funeral Home, Walterboro Chapel. Arrangements By: The Brice W.
