Palmetto Rural Telephone Company (PRTC) is expanding fiber technology into the St. George area. The project will give St. George residents access to PRTC’s leading-edge fiber technologies, including high-speed internet, video, voice, wireless and security, as well as provide a PRTC office in St. George. The project is expected to be completed in May of 2020.
“I am excited about the opportunity to bring fiber-optic broadband services to the people of St. George,” said Jason Dandridge, CEO of PRTC. “It is a great thing to provide services that create such a positive impact on people’s lives. High-quality broadband speeds open so many doors for people, from education to employment opportunities and flexibility.”
PRTC Fiber to the Home (FTTH) is a method of providing higher bandwidth to residents and businesses, which enable internet with symmetrical speeds, more robust video, and voice services. With fiber technology, St. George residents will be able to receive state-of-the-art services delivered via the latest fiber technology available: internet speeds up to one gigabit, crystal clear HD video, top of the line security, and telephone service.
“We are also excited about opening an office in St. George where customers can have that personal interaction with us,” said Dandridge. “That local touch means so much in our rural communities.”
PRTC expects to become a trusted provider and partner to the people of St. George just as they are, and have been, in Colleton County for nearly 70 years.
PRTC is a locally-owned company providing a complete telecommunications and technology solutions to the homes and businesses of the Lowcountry in South Carolina and surrounding areas since 1951.
