The Colleton County Soccer program finished the season with a 6-0 shut-out win over North Charleston High School on Senior Night.
Goals were scored for Colleton County by seniors Robert Adams and Gerardo Valdez (2). USC Sumter commit Preston McCloud finished his high school career on the scoresheet, along with another USC Sumter commit, goal keeper Corey Bowman. Freshman Jeb Crews added a goal for the Cougars.
“Senior night was magical,” said Coach Justin White. “We combined the JV and varsity team so all the boys could play together one last time. From the first whistle until the end of the game, we outperformed North Charleston in every way. It was the performance that we were expecting from our boys all season long.
“This season was a one for gaining experience,” said White. “We had 15 seniors and a good number of youngsters. Keeping balance from a coaching standpoint was tough, but in the end, we came together and performed well. I’m proud of the boys and wish my seniors all the success in their next chapter of lives. This year’s teams really pushed the program forward again and that was the overall goal this season.”
Cougar Soccer seniors include Corey Bowman, Rett Collins, Drew Frank, Wyatt O’Quinn, Hunter Pinckney, Damontre Ferguson, Caleb Grinberg, Gerardo Valdez, Lance Calcutt, Alan Washington, Robert Adams, Jimeque Brown and Preston McCloud.
