War Hawks leading S.C. in home runs

MaxPreps has the Colleton Prep War Hawk Baseball team leading South Carolina in home runs with eight recorded in five games. Kyle Hooker leads the way with three and Jordan Crosby follows with two. Dylan Kinard, Connor Morris and Brad Strickland each account for one home run.
The War Hawks are off to a 5-0 start on the season after recording wins last week over Clarendon Hall (18-4), St. John’s Christian (4-3) and Jefferson Davis (11-2).
Against Clarendon Hall on Tuesday March 12, Kyle Hooker went 4-6 with 5-RBI’s after homering in the third, singling in the fourth, then tripling and singling in the seventh. Dawson Sweat was 3-5, while Pete Peters, Charlton Griffith, Brad Strickland and Mason Jolly recorded multiple hits. Jordan Crosby earned the win allowing one earned run on six hits, striking out five. Dawson Sweat and Carter Smoak provided relief.
Brad Strickland had a solo homerun against St. John’s to break a 3-3 tie in the bottom of the sixth. Morris was 2-4 and Crosby was 2-3 in the game. Hooker earned the win, allowing three earned runs on three hits and striking out 15. Strickland closed the final two innings, allowing no runs and striking out three.
Jesse Murdaugh earned the win over Jefferson Davis, throwing six innings allowing one earned run on five hits, striking out nine. Morris closed the game, allowing no runs and striking out two. Dylan Kinard was 1-1 with a solo home run. Jolly was 2-2 with 3-RBI’s and Crosby was 2-3 with 2-RBI’s.
The War Hawks were scheduled to hit the road for three games this week traveling to Williamsburg on Tuesday March 19, St. John’s Christian on Thursday March 21 and Jefferson Davis on Friday March 22.
