WALTERBORO – Mrs. Jo Ann Thompson Long, 75, entered into rest Tuesday afternoon, September 4, 2018, at her home in Walterboro.
Born April 12, 1943, in Colleton County, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Hughes Thompson and the late Linnie Bessinger Thompson. A member of Great Swamp Baptist Church, she loved animals and going to the beach. She will always be remembered for the love she possessed for her family and for always being a special friend to many.
Surviving are: two sons, Bud Long and his wife Mary Ann of Walterboro and Billy Long and his wife Caroline of Walterboro; a daughter, Christi Amick and her husband Anthony of Snow Camp, North Carolina; a brother, Buddy Thompson and his wife Carolyn of Walterboro; and a sister, June Barnhart and her husband Dean of Hunters, Washington. There are five grandchildren, Megan Long, Keera Stafford, Gregory Long, Kyleigh Amick, and Aidan Amick as well as two great grandchildren, Briley Bishop and Austin Hickman.
A memorial service will be conducted 1 o’clock Monday afternoon, September 10, 2018 from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. The family will receive friends following the funeral ceremony.
