Edisto Beach town officials will implement a 24-hour curfew beginning at 8 p.m. this Wednesday (today.)
No one will be allowed on the beach after the beginning of the curfew.
On Thursday, all the wells and lift stations within the town will be shut off.
Town officials are asking those who are not following the mandatory evacuation order to limit water and sewer usage when the distribution systems are shut down.
At the Tuesday Sept. 11 meeting, members of the Colleton County Council approved a curfew for the portions of Edisto Island that are within the county’s borders.
Edisto Beach officials asked the county council to implement the curfew to coincide with the town curfew.
