A single-car accident in the 10000 block of Sidneys Road on July 31 at 7:45 p.m. sent two women to a trauma center. The small passenger car left the roadway, struck a tree and overturned on Sidneys Road, just south of Augusta Highway. Both occupants suffered multiple traumatic injuries, with the passenger receiving more serious injuries. Firefighter-paramedics arriving at the crash found the roadway blocked by the car and debris. Crews quickly treated both patients at the scene, then transported them to the Trauma Center at Trident Hospital in North Charleston by ambulance. Additional personnel assisted with the patient care during the transport to Trident. The S.C. Highway Patrol investigated the accident.
