Colleton County’s premier arts and entertainment civic facility, The Colleton Center, will hold a press conference to announce the upcoming 2018/2019 season of events on Monday Aug. 13 at 4 p.m. in The Gallery at The Colleton Center, 494 Hampton Street in Walterboro.
Colleton Center Board Chairperson Kathie Smith will welcome all press and interested citizens, as well as members of the Colleton County Council, Walterboro City officials, local dignitaries and those involved in the re-development of The Colleton Center.
The Colleton Center has been undergoing major renovations as a result of a county-wide tax initiative that allocated $1.7 million dollars to repair and renew the historic Hampton Street Auditorium inside the Colleton Center, which is located at the former Hampton Street School on Hampton Street.
Smith will introduce Colleton Center’s Director of Programming and Production Gregg Steele Heppner, who will provide information about the renovation project and what improvements were made to the historic venue, as well as announce the upcoming season of shows and new features of the facility.
The Colleton Center’s Executive Director Jean Harrigal will address the center’s ongoing and upcoming fundraising plans.
Seating will be on a first-come, first served basis.
A tour of the facility will follow.
