Sheldon Seibel is the proud owner of a new .45 caliber Colt Model 1911 pistol. Seibel’s name was drawn by City of Walterboro Police Chief Wade Marvin during a ceremony Monday. Pictured with Marvin are Friends of the NRA members Barney Bodie and Tom Whitacre. Proceeds from the raffle will help fund a banquet Saturday Aug. 25 at the Walterboro Elks Lodge, 236 Milestone Ln. The evening’s activities begin at 6 p.m. Those attending do not have to be NRA members. The Friends of the NRA is a 100% grassroots effort to secure the Second Amendment and raise money for shooting sports. The banquet is a family-friendly event. Single tickets are $35; couples are $65; a reserved table for 8 is $260; and kids under 12 are $20. More information or tickets call 843-542-4260 or 843-893-3027.
