Home win streak continues from 2016-17 season ­— now at 20.

The University of South Carolina Salkehatchie Indians are off to a 2-0 start following non-conference wins over Middle Georgia Prep and Columbia International University JV last week. The Indians home win streak remains alive from 2016-17 season, now standing at 20 consecutive wins in front of the home crowd.
Against Middle Georgia Prep, Coach Jake Williams made his coaching debut at the helm of the Indians, and earned his first win in a dominating 104-71 win. Sophomore starter Colin Young led the Indians at the basket with 17 points. Forwards Trey Potts (soph.) and Marques Sumner (soph.) both recorded 15 points in the game. Other top scorers included Reggie Wright (13) and Deshaw Andrews (13).
In the 111-73 win over Columbia International University (JV), the Indians were led by Sumner with 21 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists. Other leading scorers were Colin Young (16), Deshaw Andrews (15) and Reggie Wright (10).
The Indians are scheduled to host Combine Academy on Nov. 9 and travel to South Georgia State on Nov. 11 before heading to the FSCI Classic Nov. 17-18.
