Man killed on Highway 17A | News | The Press and Standard

A 65-year-old Ohio man was killed Wednesday Nov. 8 when his bike was struck by a car on Hendersonville Highway (U.S. Hwy 17-A) approximately one mile south of Ritter Road at 2:02 p.m.
The man was traveling north when he was struck by a northbound Ford Focus.
Fire-Rescue units arrived minutes later to find the man and the bicycle at the wood line. The man suffered traumatic injuries and had no signs of life.
The Coroner’s Office was notified and responded to the scene. The driver of the Ford was distraught, but not injured.
The man’s name has not been released, pending notification of family.
The northbound lane of Hendersonville Highway was blocked for 3-1/2 hours while state troopers investigated the accident.
