The Salkehatchie Indians improved to 3-1 on the season following a home win and a loss on the road last week.
The Indians picked up a 107-74 win over Combine Academy at home Tuesday Nov. 7 to continue their home win streak at 21 straight. Colin Young (soph.) led the Indians, scoring 27 points and grabbing five rebounds. Marques Sumner (soph.) scored 22 points with 10 rebounds.
On the road Saturday Nov. 11, Salkehatchie earned its first loss of the season against South Georgia State, 78-65. Young led with 19 points and one rebound, followed by Ryle Owens (soph.) with 16 points and nine rebounds. Trey Potts scored eight points and recorded 12 rebounds and Reggie Wright had eight points and eight assists. The Indians were without Sumner due to injury.
“We out-rebounded them 37-34, but we had 20 turnovers to their 11,” said Coach Jake Williams. “That is where the game was decided.”
Salk will travel to Florida for the FSCJ Classic Nov. 17-18.
