Forest Hills Subdivision held a neighborhood watch meeting Wednesday Oct. 25 at Gladys Whidden Park during which new officers were elected. Approximately 100 residents of the subdivision received updates regarding ongoing crime watches in the neighborhood from City of Walterboro Police Chief Wade Marvin. Cpt. Paul Seigler with the Walterboro Fire Dept. distributed grant-funded smoke detectors and Chris Armentrout with Palmetto Security Systems gave a presentation on home security. Michelle Strickland, tourism director, was on hand to tell residents about the current “Brag about Walterboro” campaign. Following the meeting, neighbors enjoyed a chicken bog dinner.
