Programming and Production Director

The Colleton Center (501(c)3) seeks an  individual to develop and  schedule a continuing series of drama, comedy, music, and dance performances in our renovated theater (known also as the Hampton Street Auditorium) located in Walterboro, SC. Additionally the Programming and Production Director will be responsible for the technical/physical operations of the Theater and Gallery, including lighting, sound and video equipment, and will develop, train and oversee volunteer staff to operate equipment during performances/events, and perform these duties in the absence of staff.  College degree in related field preferred, but not required.  Some grant writing, community presentation, fundraising, and assistance in the development of an annual programming budget will also be a part of this position.  The Programming and Production Director will work independently and exercise considerable judgment in the performance of his duties and also work closely with Colleton Center Board and staff.  The ideal individual possesses initiative, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to handle multiple projects at one time.  This part time, salaried position will grow in correlation to the success of the programming developed.   If you have a passion for the theater, experience in the above mentioned skills, are highly motivated, imaginative, with contacts within the state and regional entertainment business, and would like the opportunity to help shape a growing theater venue in the Lowcountry, send cover letter, resume and references to The Colleton Center, P.O.
