Yvonne “Chumpy” Penfield was recognized with a resolution from the S.C. Senate honoring her retirement after 36 years with Colleton Medical Center. Hospital employees attended the presentation and a party last week in the hospital cafeteria. The award was presented by Sue Keith of the Colleton County Legislative Delegation. Penfield spent the last 10 years of her tenure as head of the volunteers and H2U program in Colleton and Hampton counties. She was also active in the Safe Kids program, which provides child car seats.
