Claudia Aiken served as the grand marshal for the 19th annual I Love Ruffin Day. She is the wife of James “ Brantley” Aiken, the RHS alumnus to whom this year’s I Love Ruffin Day dedicated. James, affectionately known as “ Brantley,” was a true pioneer for his Ruffin High School alma mater.

“We would like to thank Mrs. Orzetta Harriett Stephens Rivers for doing an exceptional job again this year for the 19th annual I Love Ruffin Day. She, along with the awesome and hardworking staff of Hand-In-Hand Community Outreach, brings life to this year’s theme ‘Teamwork requires Unity, Contribution and Total Dedication,’” said founder Sirena Memminger.

The Hand-In-Hand Community Outreach staff included Mother Daisy Lee Jenkins, Mother Vivian McFadden, Mother Gloria Brown, Mother Essie R. Bowles, Sis. Lillie Mae Bryant, Sis. Orzetta H. Stephens Rivers, Mother Alice Jackson and, seated, Mother Jewelane S. L. Memminger and founder and chairperson Sirena L. Memminger.
