The annual Family Fun Day will be held at Keegan Filion Farm, 1475 Keegan Drive, on Sunday Oct. 8 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Admission and parking are free.
Planned activities include:
Food prepared by Colleton County High School’s FFA teens as well as the parish from Saint Anthony’s Catholic Church. These volunteers will be preparing food and drinks to be purchased during your visit to the farm.
All proceeds from food sales will go directly to these establishments and their members. Seating will be limited. Families are encouraged to bring a picnic blanket and enjoy lunch on the lawn.
Hitch a ride on the hay wagon and see first-hand where food comes from and how it is grown. Learn more about sustainable agriculture. Interactive learning will be offered for youngsters.
Farm-themed games and activities will be set up for junior farmers to enjoy during your visit. Gift certificates for dinner at some of the restaurants that the farm supplies will be raffled. Raffle tickets will be available for purchase for $5 each.
The farm market will also be open during the event with all items available for purchase and some even being sampled for free.
Those planning to attend (or even think they may attend) are asked to RSVP on the website to plan accordingly for food and drinks.
