Two more cases of West Nile confirmed in Colleton horses | News | The Press and Standard

Two cases of West Nile virus have been confirmed in horses near Walterboro. Last week, the first case was reported near Cottageville.

Transmitted by mosquitoes, West Nile virus also infects humans and birds. The equine disease is preventable by vaccination, available through veterinarians.
