Colleton County’s unemployment rate took another dip in February.
The South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce reported that Colleton County’s unemployment rate for the previous month had been 5 percent.
The new number represented a three-tenths of a percent drop from January’s 5.3 percent.
Behind the numbers, Colleton County showed a small drop in labor force, a small increase in the number of county residents working and a small decrease in the number on unemployment.
State-wide, the unemployment rate stayed the same. 4.4 percent in January and February.
Nationally, the unemployment rate went from 4.8 percent in January to 4.7.
