An Edisto Beach man has been picked by South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster to head the state advisory board.
McMaster appointed Edward Grimball of Edisto Beach to chair the S.C. Economic Advisory Board on Tuesday. The advisory board is part of the S.C. Revenue and Fiscal Affairs Office.
Grimball will head a three-member board. Serving with him are one member appointed by the Finance Committee of the S.C. State Senate and one member of the Ways and Means Committee of the S.C. House of Representatives. The director of the S.C. Department of Revenue is a non-voting member of the board.
Among the board’s duties is preparing the revenue projections the state legislature uses to produce the state budget.
In announcing the appointment, McMaster said that Grimball, a certified public accountant, has over 30 years experience in business.
He was educated at The Citadel and the University of Virginia.
Grimball was the chief financial officer and board member of Hydro-Proton, and executive vice president and chief financial officer of Whitney Holding Company.
