Deputies arrest New York men on drug charges | Crime | The Press and Standard

Colleton County Sheriff’s Office deputies working I-95 arrested two New York men on narcotics charges following a traffic stop the morning of April 13.
The officers reportedly pulled the driver over on a charge of following too closely April 13 at 9:18 a.m. near the 51-mile marker of I-95’s southbound lanes.
After receiving permission to search the vehicle, the deputies reportedly found 30 wrapped bundles of marijuana — approximately 37 pounds of marijuana is   worth an estimated $50,000 — in the trunk of the vehicle.
The discovery led to the arrest of the driver, Varun Sharma, 24, of Hollis, N.Y., and the passenger, Steven Jairam, 26, of Jamaica, N.Y., on drug charges.
