Dr. Ann Carmichael, left, dean of USC Salkehatchie, was one of three who spoke at the Society for Advancement of Management International Business Conference in Orlando, Fla., recently. Also speaking were Dr. Susan Elkins, chancellor of USC Palmetto College and Dr. Robert Bell, president emeritus of Tennessee Technological University. The topic was “Small County and Regional Development.” Dr. Carmichael spoke on the SouthernCarolina Alliance’s Promise Zone initiative and the Town of Allendale’s University Mile Project.
