BEECH ISLAND, SC -Funeral Services for Mr. Arliss D. “AJ” Jarvis, Jr., who entered into rest April 1, 2017, will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Posey Funeral Chapel. Bishop Michael Chastain and Elder Garn Capps speakers. Interment will follow in Jackson Memorial Park.
Mr. Jarvis was a native of Walterboro, South Carolina, having made Beech Island his home for the past 35 years. He was a machinist with Precision Machine Works for over 30 years. Mr. Jarvis was a man of great character who was humble and was known to be a man of his word. He enjoyed flying and riding his Harley-Davidson.
Survivors include his wife and companion of 18 years, Linda M. Jarvis; a step-son and daughter-in-law, Trey and Kayla Lariscy, Evans, GA; a step-daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Kevin Dixon, Augusta, GA; a daughter and son-in-law, Kristie and Tim Groves, Walterboro, SC; his father and step-mother, Arliss and Loretta Jarvis, Sr., Walterboro, SC; three brothers, James Jarvis, Santee, SC, Edward Jarvis, Anchorage, AK and Lonnie Jarvis, Rexburg, ID; four grandchildren, Abby Dixon, Hampton Lariscy, Lexi Groves and Blakely Groves.
Pallbearers will be James Jarvis, Edward Jarvis, Lonnie Jarvis, Brad Williams, Jim Broome, Tony Mansilla and Ashley Heaton.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday one hour prior to the service.
