An adult female was critically injured in a single-car accident on Sniders Highway, just east of Rentz Drive, March 23 at 4:25 p.m.
The westbound Chevrolet Malibu flipped over several times before coming to rest in the westbound lane, and the unrestrained driver appears to have been ejected through the sunroof.
Firefighter-Paramedics found the semi-conscious woman, suffering from multiple traumatic injuries, lying in the roadway.
Several bystanders were assisting the woman prior to the arrival of emergency responders. She was treated at the scene, transported to the helipad at Colleton Medical Center and flown to the Medical University of South Carolina Trauma Center.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
