Senior pitcher Chris Reeves earned the win for Colleton Prep last Thursday in a 12-2 region win over John Paul II on the road. Last week’s win improves the War Hawks (4-2) to 2-1 in SCISA Region 4-AA.
Reeves threw four innings of work, allowing two runs, two hits and striking out four. Joe Bryan and Kyle Hooker each provided one inning of scoreless relief in the game.
The War Hawk offense provided plenty of noise in the contest, scoring 12 runs on 20 hits in the game — six of them in the fifth inning. Lawson Griffith was perfect at the plate, going 5-for-5 with 4-RBI’s and scoring three runs. Nick Padgett was 4-for-5 with a double and 3 RBI’s against the Golden Warriors. Joshua Spooner was 3-for-4 with a triple and an RBI. Also providing hits in the game: Joe Bryan, Reeves, Kyle Hooker, Wil Hughes, Brandon Polk and Anthony Simmons.
Colleton Prep was scheduled to host non-region opponent Dorchester Academy on Monday March 20. They were scheduled to travel to Hilton Head Christian on Tuesday and host Bethesda on Thursday, both region match-ups.
