The Cougar varsity soccer team lost two region games last week to fall to 1-7 overall and 0-4 in region competition.
Against Hilton Head High School Tuesday March 21, the Cougars were shut out 6-0. Then Friday evening, they fell 7-1 to Berkeley High School at Cougar Stadium. Jared Hazard scored the lone goal for Colleton County.
“We can’t seem to find the right combination of players and effort to have a solid first half to keep within striking distance,” said Coach Shane Fidler.
Colleton County’s JV team has also been working hard to find themselves in the win column since beginning region competition. They are currently 0-4 in region play following losses against Cane Bay (6-0), Beaufort (2-0), Hilton Head (15-0) and Berkeley (4-2).
Ricardo Reyes scored both JV Cougar’s goals last week.
Both the varsity and JV were scheduled to travel to Stall Tuesday March 28 and will host Cane Bay Thursday March 30. JV games begin at 5:30 p.m. followed by varsity.
