Recently, Hendersonville Elementary School celebrated Literacy Day with various school-wide reading and writing activities. The day began with all students and teachers reciting the Reader’s Oath and completing a quick story. The school held an assembly where students from each grade level either read from their favorite books or shared exemplary writing. Guest readers from the Colleton County School District office, the CCSD school board, or members of the community visited each classroom in the building, reading books to students. Shiela Keaise from the Colleton County Memorial Library wrapped up the day by doing a Mother Goose-themed presentation. Pictured is K-4 student and reader Ansley O’Quinn, who is in Mrs.Chastity Frazier’s class.
