The Cougar Basketball team fell 22-19 in two quarters of play against Manning High School in the Cougar Round-Up held Tuesday Nov. 22 at Colleton County High School.
Tristian Nieves led the Cougars with 11 points and Shykem Chisolm finished with 5 points.
“We are making progress,” said Coach Jacob Smith. “We are focused on everyone buying into what we are doing, going hard and being a good teammate. We have a lot of potential. I told the players that hard work beats talent- when talent stops working hard. For us to have a successful season, it is important our players buy into not letting any other program out-work us on a daily basis.”
On the varsity roster for the 2016-17 season: D. Ferguson, D. Lynah, J. Monroe, N. Green, S. Chisolm, T. Nieves, J. Williams, J. Koger, J. Green, R. Gadson, T. Gantt, A. Patterson, S. Denmark and B. Benjamin.
Colleton County will head into its regular season this week as they traveled to Wade Hampton on Tuesday Nov. 29 and will host Ridgeland/Hardeeville on Friday Dec. 2. Tip-off for both games is scheduled to begin following the Lady Cougars game.
