The long search for one of the first people to make his way on the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office Top 10 Most Wanted List ended Tuesday night in Lexington Township.
Tishaun Datroy Shuler, 34, formerly of Ruffin, came off the list where he has been since 2012 when members of the U.S. Marshals Service took him into custody on outstanding Colleton County warrants.
Shuler was on the original list, released by the sheriff’s office in February 2012, but joined the Top 10 in the fall of 2012 and has been at-large ever since.
Shuler was wanted on a charge of failure to register as a *** offender and four counts of failure to pay child support.
Major Paul Haase, who heads the sheriff’s office’s Top 10 list project, said at the time of his arrest, Shuler’s unpaid child support had climbed to $101,099.
Since 2012, a total of 61 suspects have made their way onto the Top 10 list. Shuler became the 57th person to be taken into custody under the program.
Sheriff Andy Strickland said he wanted to thank the U.S. Marshals for their assistance in the apprehension of Shuler.
