In His Name-Colleton is continuing to help with long-term recovery within the community in the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew. The group of volunteers have partnered with America’s Disaster Relief, a national 501(c)(3) organization headquartered in Colorado, to help residents recover from Matthew.
Last Thursday Oct, 27, volunteers from In His Name-Colleton were on hand to accept a U-Haul truck packed with supplies from the Texas and Oklahoma divisions of America’s Disaster Relief. Also helping unload the supplies were volunteers from New Beginnings Outreach, America’s Disaster Relief, The Colletonian and The Press and Standard. Wendi Lawson See, representing In His Name-Colleton, said the items donated will begin reaching those in need this week.
In a press release dated Oct. 27, the non-profit 501(c)(3) has specific urgent needs including:
More supplies are already available to be shipped to the Colleton area, but In His Name-Colleton needs help covering shipping costs. This shipment will provide the area with approximately $50,000 of desperately needed building supplies for repair relief. Help get those supplies on the road to Walterboro.
One or more Conex shipping containers are needed immediately. Anyone who would be willing to donate one or help in purchasing one at a discounted price, please contact Stacy See at 843-217-5661.
IHN-Colleton will schedule community town hall meetings in various areas of the county to serve as a single point of contact for residents’ questions about short-term problems and the long-term recovery of the region. Any church or organization that wants to host a meeting, please contact Wendi See at 843-217-5661
Tax-deductible monetary donations can be mailed to In His Name-Colleton, 1033 Bells Highway #146, Walterboro, SC 29488 or PayPal donations can be made to firstname.lastname@example.org.
