Man crossing street struck and killed | News | The Press and Standard

A Walterboro man died Friday evening after being struck by a motor vehicle in the city.
Robert Thomas McCready, 60, of Walterboro, was pronounced dead at the Emergency Department of the Colleton Medical Center Friday at 8:19 p.m.
McCready had been attempting to cross Bells Highway at the Mount Carmel Road intersection Friday at about 6:30 pm. when he was struck by the motor vehicle.
A cause of death is pending the results of an autopsy ordered by Colleton County Deputy Coroner Richard Carter.
Colleton County Fire-Rescue paramedics treated McCready at the crash site and then transported him to Colleton Medical Center.
Members of the Walterboro Police Department are continuing to work on the accident report and no additional information was available.

    Robert McCready is my oldest Brother!! To the people that hit him I want them to know I don’t hold them responsible and I pray that they can move forward. My Brother will definitely be missed and he is loved by many!! R.I.P Bobby xoxoxo
